The Golfer's Guide to Dining in Estepona — Where to Eat After 18 Holes

Estepona sits at the heart of the Costa del Sol's golf coast. Within a fifteen-minute drive of the El Pilar urbanisation you can tee off at Valle Romano, Estepona Golf, Azata Golf, La Resina, Atalaya, El Paraíso or the championship fairways of Finca Cortesín — more courses per kilometre than almost anywhere in Europe. What golfers ask us most often, though, isn't about the golf. It's where to eat afterwards.
After four hours in the Andalusian sun, the last thing most players want is a heavy, formal dinner that takes three hours and a dress code. What works is something warming and generous, easy to share, ready when you arrive, and open late enough that a slow back nine doesn't ruin the evening. That is exactly the gap MAA Indian Restaurant fills for the golf crowd on the New Golden Mile.
Minutes from every major Estepona course
We're in the El Pilar urbanisation, just off the A-7 between Estepona and Cancelada — an easy drive from the clubhouse in your golf shoes if you like:
- Valle Romano Golf & Resort — around 10 minutes
- Estepona Golf — around 8 minutes
- Azata Golf — around 5 minutes
- La Resina Golf & Country Club — around 7 minutes
- El Paraíso and Atalaya Golf — around 12 minutes
- Finca Cortesín — around 20 minutes
- Los Flamingos, Villa Padierna and the Benahavís courses — 15 to 20 minutes
Why curry is the perfect post-round meal
There's a reason Indian food has become the unofficial nineteenth-hole dinner for touring golfers. It's built for sharing, so nobody has to negotiate over one menu. The portions are generous after a long walk. The spice level scales from a gentle korma to a genuinely fierce vindaloo, so mixed groups all get what they want from the same table. And rice, breads and slow-cooked protein are exactly what a tired body wants at the end of a long day outdoors.

What to order after golf
- Mixed Tandoori Grill — straight from the tandoor, ideal for a four-ball to share while the rest of the order lands.
- Butter Chicken — mild, rich and universally loved; the safe pick for any guest.
- Methi Gosht — slow-cooked lamb with fresh fenugreek, our signature and the dish regulars come back for.
- Maa Bahar — chicken tikka, prawns and spinach with garlic and house spices.
- Chicken Tikka Naga — for the one player in every group who insists it isn't hot enough.
- Pilau rice, garlic naan and a cooling raita to hold it all together.
Late kitchen, big terrace, easy parking
Our kitchen runs from 13:00 to 23:30 every single day, so a late finish is never a problem. The terrace is large enough for a full society group, the lounge is air-conditioned when the afternoon heat is still hanging around, and there's easy parking outside — no fighting for a space in Estepona old town after a long round.
Golf groups, societies and villa stays
Most of our golf guests come as a group — a four-ball, a society of twenty, or a family taking a villa for the week. We can set a long table, agree a sharing menu in advance so the food lands the moment you sit down, and cater directly at your villa if you'd rather stay in after the prize-giving. Everything is 100% halal-certified with a full vegetarian and vegan selection.
